The National Police asked not to violate the curfew on New Year's Eve and threatened nightclubs
Violation of curfew on New Year's Eve will be punished, but with understanding
The National Police of Ukraine asked citizens not to violate the curfew on New Year's Eve. Violators will be treated with understanding, but nightclubs will be dealt with harshly.
This was stated at the briefing by the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police Maxim Akhrameyev .
"I appeal to citizens to spend the holidays with family, relatives, and friends. Do not go out and violate the curfew", - Akhrameyev said.
He clarified that the police should respond and record violations of the law in any case, but in some cases they will make exceptions.
"We will treat with understanding those who violate the curfew in case of emergency", - said the National Police representative.
Akhrameyev also warned owners of nightclubs and other entertainment venues who are planning or have already planned loud New Year's celebrations at their premises.
"This is probably not the right time to celebrate like this.... if 102 receives statements and reports about loud celebrations in establishments, we will react harshly", - Akhrameyev emphasized.
The head of the National Police's Preventive Activities Department also reminded of administrative and criminal liability for the sale and use of pyrotechnics and urged not to drive drunk, as police patrols on the roads will be strengthened.
