Energy expert Gennadiy Ryabtsev believes that post-war Ukraine should completely switch to a non-decentralized energy system

He expressed this opinion on Espresso.

"Frankly speaking, I would not recommend restoring energy facilities after the war. It would be better for Ukraine to follow the path defined by the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050. This path has been taken by all European countries. In particular, they have abandoned gigantism and built a decentralized, dispersed energy system that uses local sources of fuel and energy. Such an energy system is much more efficient and reliable", Ryabtsev explained.

The expert noted that in a dispersed energy system, consumers choose the type of energy they want to use

"In addition, the decentralized energy system implements the principle of democracy. That is, each consumer can choose what kind of energy they want to use and when they want to use it. Therefore, post-war Ukraine should become a country with a decentralized energy system", he added.
