Every year, at the beginning of October in the Romanian city of Brașov, the Multicultural Day takes place. Immigrants living in the city introduce visitors to their national culture. In 2023, the event celebrated its first ten-year anniversary, presenting 22 countries. The celebration, organized by the Brașov Migrant Integration Center, traditionally takes place in the main square of the city, Piața Sfatului.

The main event of the festival was a festive concert. Songs in various languages, including Chinese, Romanian, Korean, Ukrainian, and Spanish, were played on the stage. The audience could watch traditional dances from India, Venezuela, and Sri Lanka. Peru showcased the natural beauty and architectural landmarks of their homeland.

Each country tried to decorate their tents uniquely, offering visitors national clothing, utensils, wooden and metal crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. Some countries prepared additional bonuses for guests. China set up a test of chopstick skills - transferring beans from one box to another. South Korea allowed people to try on national clothing and take a photo as a keepsake. A long line formed around the Cuban tent, where they made real Cuban cigars for everyone interested.

Traditional dishes were also available for tasting. Visitors had the opportunity to try Iranian mirza ghasemi, Egyptian falafel, Peruvian dessert mazamorra morada, and Ukrainian pancakes with poppy seeds, apples, and honey.

Event visitors received a so-called "passport" and, after visiting any tent, they could get a visa stamp from the country they had just visited. Some countries, such as China, South Korea, Japan, India, Syria, and Lebanon, offered the option to write your name alongside the stamp using the national alphabet or hieroglyphs. Guests of the event had the opportunity to receive postcards with picturesque views and flags of participating countries as a gift.

Therefore, bright memories and unforgettable impressions are guaranteed for visitors of the festival. It is unlikely that, in the near future, a person will be able to visit many countries in just a few hours. This event not only allows you to imagine, but also to experience the taste of such an extraordinary journey!
