Oschad signed the Charter on Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans
Oschadbank, at the initiative of the National Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, has joined the Charter on Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans. The relevant document was signed by Serhii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
According to this charter, Oschadbank is committed to supporting the reintegration and re-socialization of war veterans into civilian life and protecting their economic interests and opportunities, contributing to the inclusiveness of the financial sector in Ukraine.
Oshchad will do its best to make financial services for female and male veterans accessible and inclusive. The bank is committed to removing obstacles that may prevent veterans from returning to work by introducing an inclusive HR policy; improving the accessibility of its premises for veteran customers and employees; and supporting entrepreneurs who may hire or serve veterans to make their businesses more inclusive.
"Businesses, communities and the entire society must take responsibility for the quality integration of our defenders returning from war into peaceful life. Just as they took responsibility for their country when they stood up to defend it with arms. Oschad has been implementing the vast majority of the obligations stipulated for the signatories of the charter for a long time. For ten years now, we have been implementing our own inclusiveness strategy, which was given a new lease of life at the end of last year through the My Barrier-Free program. The signing of the charter is actually a formalization of our intention to help our heroes better acclimatize to civilian life, which is already being implemented by the bank", - said Serhii Naumov, Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank.
Oschadbank's My Barrier-Free program, launched in October 2023, is largely focused on a special service model for people with disabilities and veterans in particular. In addition to facilitating the accessibility of bank branches, the program is based on the principles of equal treatment of all customer groups, human service, and comfort during physical presence in the branch and during remote service. The model provides for special employees in Oschadbank branches to advise veterans not only on banking services, but also on a much wider range of issues, such as psychological and legal support.
In addition, Oschad has implemented a program to reintegrate veterans from among its own employees into the workforce. Currently, 46 demobilized employees of the bank have returned to work. A special program consisting of medical, psychological, social, legal and educational activities has been developed to ensure their successful adaptation. In addition, the bank signed a cooperation agreement on employment of veterans with Veteran Hub.
