In Kharkiv, on the evening of April 8, a man hit two pedestrians with his car and fled the scene. He was found and detained

"On April 8, around 20:20, the police received a report of a traffic accident on Moskalivska Street. An unidentified driver of an Audi hit pedestrians and fled. The 21-year-old man died from his injuries, his 23-year-old friend was hospitalized," the statement said.
In less than an hour, patrol police officers found the wanted car with mechanical damage near a residential building. The policemen made a door-to-door visit, interviewed witnesses, and identified the man who committed the hit-and-run. It was a 36-year-old Kharkiv resident who had signs of alcohol intoxication, p. 3 of Art. 286-1 (violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles in a state of intoxication) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Note: According to part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
