Ukraine is testing a new type of demining machine DOK-ING MV-4
Cooperation with the American corporation Palantir on the development of a demining system using artificial intelligence also took place.
The Ministry of Economy announces the successful completion of tests of the DOK-ING MV-4 light demining vehicle, which is resistant to detonation of anti-personnel mines and unexploded ordnance. The Ukrainian company A3tech, which has been cooperating with the Croatian company DOK-ING since 2020, assembled the vehicle. The localization of production is currently 15%, but it is planned to increase to 25-30% by the end of the year.
"Localization and scaling of production will not only allow us to manufacture, maintain and quickly repair DOK-ING machines in Ukraine, but also create additional jobs. This means both the development of our economy and an increase in opportunities for humanitarian demining. In addition, it is also a signal to foreign investors that projects can be implemented in Ukraine despite the war that russia has unleashed against us," said Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy.
The DOK-ING MV-4 was tested on various types of surfaces, including sand, gravel, black soil, and areas with dense vegetation. It demonstrated high survivability, withstanding a series of blasts of about 600 grams of TNT equivalent. According to a pilot project of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the machine will undergo a mandatory certification procedure.
MV-4 is a lightweight robotic machine that can clear up to 1500 square meters per hour and is controlled by a remote control with a range of up to 1500 meters. In Ukraine, it is used by specialists of the State Emergency Service. In addition, on March 29, it became known that Ukraine is cooperating with Palantir to develop a demining system using artificial intelligence, which is planned to be presented in the summer.
