The Ukrainian Air Force has reported the successful destruction of a russian Forpost attack drone worth about $7 million. The information about the event was disclosed by Air Force spokesman Ilya Yevlash during a telethon.

"During operations on April 1, 2024, the Odesa anti-aircraft missile brigade destroyed the russian Forpost strike and reconnaissance UAV in the Black Sea," the Ukrainian military said. Ilya Yevlash added that such targets are rare.

"Today the Air Force has completed a task on a rather significant target, we rarely have such targets, but we were able to shoot down one of the most expensive drones "Forpost" - this is a russian UAV. It was an unusual target, but we still managed to destroy it," he said.

He also noted that the drone is capable of carrying a diverse payload and performing combat missions for a long time along the front line.

"It looks like an analogue of Bayraktar, it is quite large, can conduct reconnaissance and, in addition, carry an additional combat load in the form of two missiles or other weapons to hit ground targets", the Air Force spokesman added.

Earlier, on August 30, 2022, Ukrainian defenders also shot down a russian Forpost drone over the Kherson region.
