On Wednesday, April 3, the Acting Rostyslav Karandeyev, the acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, introduced Yevhen Nyshchuk to the theater staff as the new General Director and Artistic Director. He replaced Mykhailo Zakharevych in this position.
According to Karandeyev, Nyshchuk signed a contract for the period of martial law and an additional 12 months after that.
51-year-old Yevhen Nyshchuk is a theater and film actor. In 2014 and 2016-2019, he headed the Ministry of Culture. He is known as the "voice of Maidan". In 2022, after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he joined the terrorist defense and, until recently, was in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
