Director of the Defense Express information and consulting company Serhiy Zgurets noted that the decrease in the number of combat clashes may indicate a certain exhaustion of the enemy, so we can expect a wave of rotations and regrouping in the russian army.

He spoke about this on Espresso.

"If we take into account the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two areas remain the hottest - Novopavlivske and west of Avdiivka. In total, there are approximately 30 combat engagements there. It is interesting to note that compared to the number of combat engagements during the peak periods, which just 2-3 weeks ago was almost 100, we are talking about only 53. In other words, it seems that the intensity of hostilities has decreased slightly, which may indicate the exhaustion of the enemy," the military expert commented.

According to him, in the fighting on March 30, when russian troops tried to attack west of Avdiivka using 36 tanks and 12 armored personnel carriers, a third of the tanks and all the armored personnel carriers were destroyed, which means that we have a sufficiently powerful ability to destroy the enemy. But the enemy began to use armored vehicles massively and switch to the format of battalion assaults, which has not happened for a long time.

"We see that in the direction west of Avdiivka the invader is trying to push through, but the result is quite predictable. From the point of view of defense, the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy's movement to Chasiv Yar and west of Avdiivka remain the most difficult. But once again, it seems that the enemy is exhausted. Probably, we can expect a certain wave of rotation and regrouping in the russian army to continue actions west of Avdiivka and attempts to break through to the town of Chasiv Yar," noted Zgurets.
  • On April 1, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 53 combat engagements between russian and Ukrainian troops took place at the front over the past day. The defense forces repelled a number of occupants' attacks in six key areas and eliminated another 710 russian servicemen
