Police in Zhytomyr region reported a shooting that took place in the courtyard of a high-rise building on March 27. According to the report, the sounds of shots were heard, and a person was possibly injured. Law enforcement officers immediately arrived at the scene, where they found a 43-year-old resident of Zhytomyr with a gunshot wound in his car.

The wounded man was immediately taken to the hospital.

"Police are currently taking measures to identify and detain the persons involved in the incident. All circumstances are being investigated," the police said.

On the morning of March 28, the medical facility where the man was treated confirmed his death in a comment to Suspilne. Doctors said that the man was delivered in critical condition and unconscious, and his death was pronounced at night.

According to Natalia Tymchuk, a spokeswoman for the Zhytomyr police, investigative actions are currently underway.
