Detection of over 1700 cyberattacks on Ukrainian defense forces
Ukrainian counterintelligence detects numerous cyberattacks on the Defense Forces since the beginning of the war
Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Head Vasyl Malyuk spoke during the telethon about a significant number of cyberattacks on Ukrainian defense structures, reported by espreso.tv
"We are in a war of IT technologies and, believe me, the enemy is not lagging behind here," he said.
According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 1700 enemy technical penetrations have been detected. He added that the russian federation uses encrypted software bookmarks (ESBs), which allow remote injection of malware into Android mobile terminals.
"We have detected seven types of them since the beginning of the war. They can be remotely injected into any Android mobile terminal. After that, the enemy obtains information online - not only what is in the messengers of the person using the phone or computer, but also uses the option of connecting online and listening to everything that is happening," Malyuk explained.
In response to the cyber aggression, the Ukrainian IT army attacked a number of government and local portals inside russia, including the Troika fare payment system, which led to the suspension of the moscow metro. There were also reports of a possible hacker attack on the official Facebook page of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
