Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Veterans' Rights, said that starting April 1, working pensioners will receive higher payments

This was informed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

He did not name the specific amount, but said that the increase in payments would cover the rise in prices for products and services.

"For each working pensioner, this is not such a large amount of money, but in general, it is still additional costs for the state budget. It is very important that, in principle, this increase in pensions for working pensioners is to cover a little more than the inflation rate, that is, all the rise in food prices and some services today will be covered by this increase for working pensioners, and we think this trend will continue," said the head of the committee.

Tsymbaliuk also reminded that the minimum wage will increase on April 1.

"It is very important that this category of pensioners will also receive, as a rule, a higher salary because from April 1, the minimum wage will increase to UAH 8 thousand and some of them work for the minimum wage, that is, it is also an important support for those people who do not receive much today, but during the period of martial law it is important that this category of citizens feel supported," he said.

On December 15, 2023, the World Bank allocated 1.34 billion dollars to support Ukraine, which will be used for priority expenditures of the state budget, namely pensions, teachers' salaries and IDPs.
