The Yemeni Houthis have informed the governments of China and russia that they will not attack their ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden

This was reported by espreso.tv

According to journalists, this was the result of negotiations between Mohammed Abdel Salam, one of the leading Houthi political figures, and the Chinese and russian delegations. The sources of the publication noted that in exchange for this, representatives of the russian federation and China promised the Houthis support in the UN Security Council.

"It is not entirely clear how this support will manifest itself, but it may include blocking more resolutions against the group," the newspaper notes.

Representatives of China, russia and the Houthis did not respond to Bloomberg's requests for comment.

  • On February 17, Yemeni Houthis attacked a Panamanian-flagged tanker carrying crude oil from russia to India with a missile in the Red Sea.
