Authorities do not do enough to return captive Azov residents - member of the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders Krotevych
Sandra Krotevych, a member of the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders, believes that today the Ukrainian authorities are not doing enough to bring back servicemen who left Azovstal from russian captivity
She expressed this opinion on the air of Espresso.
"Our authorities are trying to explain to us that the lists for prisoner exchange do not include the military personnel who left Azovstal by saying that the russians simply do not want to give them back. However, in my opinion, our state is doing very little to include them in the lists of prisoners and bring them home. It can't be that a year has passed and we haven't managed to return a single Azov citizen," Krotevich said.
According to Krotevich, the authorities simply don't want to return the captured Azovs.
"When the authorities wanted to, they managed to do everything. They were able to make lists and exchange our guys. Now I see that they don't want to do it. We have no other explanation. The authorities just don't want them back. This is my personal opinion," she added.
- On Wednesday, January 31, Ukraine returned 207 Ukrainians from russian captivity, including AFU soldiers, national guardsmen, border guards and police officers.
- February 1, the commander of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade of the NSU, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko (Redis), said that more than 900 Azov fighters remain in enemy captivity
