The case of highwayman Murayev was sent to court
Former MP faces 15 years in prison
Ukraine's Security Service has completed a pre-trial investigation and sent to court a case against the leader of the banned Nashi party, former MP Yevhen Murayev, who is involved in subversive activities in favor of russia.
The SBU press service said.
"The accused used the Nash TV channel controlled by him for mass distribution of kremlin propaganda in Ukraine. Based on the SBU materials, the indictment was sent to court," the statement said.
Murayev is charged under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason) and Part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, region, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds).
"Murayev used his own media resource to provide distorted information about the internal situation in our country. In this way, he assisted the aggressor in numerous attempts to destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine on the eve of a full-scale invasion by russia," the SBU noted.
Examinations conducted during the pre-trial investigation confirmed the facts of Murayev's anti-Ukrainian activities. He faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Recall that the Security Service of Ukraine detained a man who, under the supervision of russian special services, planned to remotely detonate an improvised explosive device after receiving a notification of the arrival of cargo at one of the postal departments in Zaporizhzhia.
