Ukrainian Armed Forces retreat to pre-prepared positions near the city

Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from Avdiivka to pre-prepared positions to prevent the encirclement of combat units serving there.

This was reported by Commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.

"According to the received order, we left Avdiivka for the previously prepared positions", - Tarnavskyi wrote.

He specified that the quantitative advantage of the russian occupation forces in missiles is ten to one, compared to the Ukrainian ones.

"Encirclement was prevented, the personnel was withdrawn, our soldiers took up defense at the designated lines", - Tarnavskyi emphasized.

The decision to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka was made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, which he also reported on his Facebook page.

As a reminder, back in December 2023, Valerii Zaluzhnyi hinted that Ukraine is currently unable to defend and recapture Avdiivka, and it is much more important to save the lives of Ukrainian servicemen.
