Ukraine has a million-strong army - Zelenskyy
More than 30 million ukrainians, alongside the military, defend europe and the world
The Ukrainian army has about one million people, which protects Europe and the world from the russian invasion.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with German TV channel ARD.
"We have a million-strong army. And at the same time, we have 30 million people working right now, and maybe a little more... They are all defending Europe and the world in their workplaces", — Zelenskyy said.
He clarified that men who left Ukraine illegally should return: not necessarily to be at the front, but also to pay taxes to the Ukrainian treasury.
"There are people who left and did not return. They did not return to their jobs. This is their right. But if they are citizens of Ukraine, they should pay taxes, preferably to Ukraine. Because we then give this money to our military, to our soldiers who protect us. And they are defending not only Ukraine", — Zelenskyy said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on January 26 that the grouping of Russian troops in Ukraine numbered 617,000 people.
