Mountain resorts in the Prahova Valley enjoyed high occupancy, but skiers had to contend with the weather outside

The Christmas holiday brought joy to mountain resorts in the Prahova Valley, with occupancy exceeding 70%.However, skiers were faced with fickle weather, from snow to wind and unusually warm temperatures.

Despite the fluctuating weather conditions, accommodation in mountain resorts recorded significant occupancy, with over 70% in the main destinations. Câmpina stood out with an occupancy rate of 90%, showing that people chose to spend the holidays in a mountain setting, according to Agerpres.

The holiday started with snowy landscapes, but the fickle weather tested the enthusiasm of skiers. In Sinaia and Bușteni, only children were able to enjoy sledging, while Azuga was the only resort in Prahova where skiing was allowed on the slopes, provided the wind was not too strong. The slopes open were Sorica and Cazacu - Variantă, both improved with artificial snow.

Even if public New Year's Eve activities are not the order of the day, hotels and party establishments have prepared artistic programmes and spectacular fireworks displays to mark the end of the year.

The Association for the Promotion of Prahova Tourist Destination (APDT Prahova), a public-private partnership, brings together local tourism players to promote the region and support high-caliber tourism events.
