Record involvement in vocational training programmes: Over 24,000 participants in the first 11 months of the year
ANOFM data reflects diversity and impact of skills development projects among the unemployed, with emphasis on occupations in demand on the labour market
In a significant effort for skills development and labor market reintegration, more than 24,000 people participated in vocational training programmes carried out in the first 11 months of this year. This success represents a fruitful collaboration between territorial employment agencies and regional adult vocational training centers.
According to data provided by the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM), of the total number of participants, 22,324 are unemployed and 1,818 people are in the category of those who do not benefit from free training according to legal provisions. Under the programmes, 1,431 free vocational training programmes have been organized, covering various areas from qualification/ retraining to key/transversal skills, reports Agerpres.
In terms of educational attainment, 60.84% of the 22,324 unemployed participants had vocational, secondary or post-secondary education, highlighting the diversity of participants. In terms of age, the programmes attracted a broad spectrum, with 38.13% of participants under 25 and 25.87% over 45.
The main occupations for which free vocational training programmes were organized are commercial worker, cook's assistant, security guard, data entry, processing, validation operator, green space caretaker, barber, human resources inspector/reporter, manicurist and communication skills in Romanian.
According to ANOFM, these programmes not only bring individual benefits to participants, but also contribute to strengthening the labor market by providing qualified resources adapted to current needs.
