BVB Market Report: 1.04% Increase in Market Capitalization, but Trading Value Declines by 3.7 Times
BVB: Trading values suffer steep decline
From 11 to 15 December 2023, the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) gained 3.046 billion RON in capitalization, marking an increase of 1.04%. Total capitalization reached 293.680 billion lei, up from 290.634 billion lei in the previous week (4 - 8 December 2023).
However, the value of share transactions saw a significant decrease, by more than 957 million lei or almost 3.7 times, compared to the previous week.
According to data published by the BVB and consulted by Agerpres , the market capitalization reached 293.680 billion lei between 11 and 15 December 2023, up from 290.634 billion lei between 4 and 8 December 2023.
Share transactions generated a turnover of 355.55 million lei, down from 1.312 billion lei in the previous week.
The best day of trading on the BVB was Tuesday, December 12, with a turnover of 82.19 million lei, and the worst day was Thursday, December 14, with a trading value of 65.27 million lei.
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange - BET - closed the week at 15,409.17 points.
OMV Petrom shares were the most liquid securities on the main segment of the BVB, with transactions of 63.41 billion lei and a price increase of 4.20%.
Also at the top of the trading list were Hidroelectrica shares, with transactions of 44.33 million lei (+1.03%) and Electrica SA, with 38.79 million lei (+9.89%).
The most significant increases in quotations were recorded by the shares of Electrocontact Industrial Group (20.51%), Comelf (17.69%) and Conted SA (+10.58%).
At the other end of the scale, significant falls were recorded by UCM Reșita shares, with a decline of 48.66%, followed by VES SA (-11.81%) and Altur SA (-7.65%).
