Peruvian police officers, including one disguised as Santa Claus, carried out an ingenious operation to crush a gang of drug traffickers in a town north of Lima, capturing two criminals and seizing an impressive amount of illegal substances

Peruvian authorities launched a surprise operation, with a member of Terna's police team dressing up as Santa Claus to sneak unnoticed into a neighborhood known for criminal activity. Colonel Walter Palomino, coordinator of the Peruvian National Police's Green Squadron, highlighted the success of the strategy, adding that the disguise was a key element in catching the criminals.

The policeman disguised as Santa Claus forced his way into a house and managed to arrest one of the suspects. As a result of the intervention, two men were captured and a significant amount of cocaine and marijuana was seized, although the total value has not yet been determined, reports euronews.ro.

One of those detained was introduced under the pseudonym "Grinch," referring to the famous fictional character. This ingenious operation comes after other similar actions by Peruvian police, who use creative methods to combat drug trafficking.

In recent years, drug trafficking has seen a significant increase in Peru and authorities are struggling to keep up with criminals, adopting innovative tactics and unconventional strategies to ensure community safety.
