PACE meeting supports Ukrainian language teaching in Europe and payments for returning home

This was stated by the chairman of the PACE Committee on Migration, Oleksiy Goncharenko. He noted that the PACE voted to pay money to Ukrainians to return home. According to the document, after the end of hostilities, Ukrainians who will return to live in Ukraine will be able to receive financial assistance from European countries.

In addition, the PACE voted to teach Ukrainian to Ukrainian children in educational institutions.

"Cooperation should also be strengthened to recognize the results obtained in the Ukrainian educational system at an equivalent level in European countries", the statement said.

In addition, from now on, European countries will recognize the disability status, degree of disability and medical and disability certificates of Ukrainian refugees.

Another resolution, which was voted on June 27 in PACE, concerns financial support for Ukrainian IDPs. In particular, it provides for the payment of social benefits and pensions, financial assistance for access to social housing and loans for the reconstruction of private housing, funding for the creation of businesses for IDPs and new jobs, and protection of IDP children.

It is noted that European countries should provide financial, security and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian cities and regions.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Wednesday, June 26, supported three resolutions concerning Ukraine. The documents refer to a special tribunal for russia, strengthening of sanctions and condemnation of crimes against Ukrainian identity.
