Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev believes that the possible arrest of former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov on an ICC warrant will be a reason to declare war
According to espreso.tv

In Medvedev's opinion, the arrest of officials of other countries may become a reason for declaring war, since it is impossible to build stable cooperation between countries without inviolable immunity for officials.

"The execution of a decision to arrest its officials, which is illegal and invalid with regard to a particular state, may become an act of declaring war", Medvedev said.

He called on leaders of other countries to stop any actions to "bring officials of other countries with immunity to criminal responsibility abroad".

  • On June 25, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the U.S. State Department and Russia reacted to the decision.
