Ukraine has not exported electricity for over a month now

"I am very surprised to read reports in social networks that show physical electricity flows from Ukraine, reflected on the ENTSO-E website, and claim that supposedly these are exports. In reality, these are transit physical flows. For example, Romania can transport electricity through Ukraine to Hungary because of weak connections in its power system. This means that electricity goes in and out of Ukraine without staying with us. Ukraine exports nothing and loses nothing", he said.
He said Ukraine does not cheat consumers by turning off their lights to sell electricity abroad. Electricity passes through us in transit.
"To make sure that exports are zero, you can look at the special tab Scheduled Commercial Exchanges on the ENTSO-E website, where trade operations are displayed. There you can see that nothing is flowing from Ukraine to Europe, and in return Europe is exporting electricity to Ukraine. Thanks to these imports, we can maintain a more or less stable situation with blackouts", Kudrytskyy explained.
- The Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU) earlier reported that Ukraine imported a record volume of electricity in May at the maximum possible capacity.
