Ukraine Facility: Ukraine received a 1.9 billion euro tranche from the EU
Ukraine has received 1.9 billions euros in funding from the EU under the Ukraine Facility. Ukraine will receive the next tranches under the initiative on a quarterly basis
The EU has provided Ukraine with nearly 35 billion euros in direct budgetary aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. The ministry says these funds have helped support macroeconomic stability and also allow for the financing of priority budgetary needs.
"The EU is Ukraine's key partner, which continues to play a crucial role in accelerating our victory and strengthening the country's economic sustainability", Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said.
The ministry added that Ukraine will receive the next tranches under the Ukraine Facility on a quarterly basis, subject to meeting the indicators defined in the Pledge.
About Ukraine Facility
The Ukraine Facility is an instrument that envisages the possibility for Ukraine to receive EU financial and technical assistance totalling 50 billion euros in 2024-2027. Of this amount, 38.27 billion euros will be allocated for budgetary support, 6.97 billion euros for the investment fund, and 4.76 billion euros for technical and administrative support.
The EU finally approved the four-year support program for Ukraine on February 28. The government subsequently adopted a plan for the Ukraine Facility program on March 18. The European Commission called it a great achievement.
In early June, the Verkhovna Rada ratified an agreement with the European Union to receive funds under the Ukraine Facility initiative.
