"Peace can only be fair": the Office of the President commented on Trump's "peace plan" on Ukraine

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, said that Ukraine has a clear understanding that any plan to end the war with Russia must be based on international law and that the peace must be fair
This is reported espreso.tv.

According to Podolyak, the war cannot end without holding Russia accountable, he said, commenting on Trump's "peace plan for Ukraine".

He emphasized that it would be "strange" to freeze the war, which is already in its 28th month, on the current front lines because Russia has violated international law and is on Ukrainian territory.

"Ukraine has an absolutely clear understanding, and it is spelled out in the 'peace formula' proposed by President Zelenskyy, it clearly says — peace can only be just, and peace can only be on the basis of international law", the adviser to the head of the OP said.

Podolyak reiterated Kyiv's position and called the ceasefire terms announced earlier by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin absurd.

"We see Putin's plan — it makes absolutely no sense", Podolyak said.
  • Reminder that former President Donald Trump in private conversations shared his vision of a peaceful end to Russia's war in Ukraine, according to which Ukraine would have to cede some territories.
