British intelligence: Loss of Novoaleksandrovka threatens Defense Forces supplies
At the site of the conflict, russian troops could cut the main supply route for the Defense Forces in the east
According to a summary from the U.K. Ministry of Defense, russian forces have likely taken control of the village of Novoaleksandrovka, about 20 kilometers north of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The area has been the scene of fierce fighting throughout 2024, and russia has been gradually advancing since the capture of Avdeevka in February 2024.
British intelligence experts stress that the occupation of Novoaleksandrovka would allow russian forces to get closer to the T-05-04 road, which is one of the main supply routes for the Defense Forces in the east. The UK Defense Ministry also adds that the next target of the russian invaders is likely to be the village of Vozdvizhenka. The occupiers aim to cut the road and disrupt Ukrainian logistics.
On June 14, Ivan Sekach, a spokesman for the 110th Independent Mechanized Brigade named after General-Khorunzheg Mark Bezruchko from the Pokrovsky direction, said that the occupiers' reports about capturing Novoaleksandrovka are untrue.
"Enemy personnel who make attempts to enter the village are immediately destroyed", Sekach said.
