During repairs, it is possible to increase the generation deficit in the energy system

Energoatom announces that it will soon put another power unit into repair. Given this, as well as the increase in electricity consumption in July, the generation deficit in the grid could increase. However, the company notes that it is this repair schedule that will make it possible to reduce the duration of forced power outages as much as possible in the fall.

According to acting Energoatom Chairman Pyotr Kotin, this year the company, like last year, is ahead of schedule in carrying out scheduled preventive repairs of nuclear power units.

"In recent months, Energoatom has already completed repairs of 3 power units with a capacity of 2,420 MW. Due to round-the-clock, high-class work of nuclear workers, the total duration of repairs has already been reduced by 22.3 days from the planned one. As a result, the nuclear power plants generated an additional 171.84 million kW of electricity and supported the energy system by reducing the duration of outages in June", Pyotr Kotin added.

The United States is providing $824 million to support Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
