Four US teachers attacked in China: they were stabbed
On Tuesday, June 11, four American professors at a university in Iowa were attacked in a park in Jilin province in northeastern China
It is noted that the Iowa Cornell College professors were in China as part of an exchange program with Beihua University.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said the incident was a random attack, and it would not affect the usual exchanges between China and the United States.
According to the brother of one of the victims, a group of faculty members were visiting a temple in Beishan Park when they were attacked by a man with a knife.
"Police have tentatively determined that it was a random incident, but the investigation is ongoing. All the victims were immediately hospitalized and received appropriate emergency treatment, and their lives are not in danger", said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
At the same time, Beijing vowed to continue to take effective measures to ensure the safety of foreigners in China.
