About that she told in the air of Espreso.
"The counting of votes in the European Parliament elections is still underway. However, figures with the results have already been made public. The good news for Ukraine is that the pro-Ukrainian centrist majority in the European Parliament has been preserved. That is, the forces that previously supported Ukraine retain their majority. For example, the European People's Party will get 185 seats in the European Parliament. Earlier, it had 177 seats. The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats will get 137 votes, and the Renew Europe group will get 79 mandates", Vysotska said.
The correspondent reported that Ursula von der Leyen may hold on to the post of European Commission president.
"In total, these three groups give 401 votes. We know that the majority in the European Parliament is 361 votes. Thus, we can state that the current president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has a high chance of retaining her position. Since it is these three political groups that support her that can easily support her candidacy", she added.
- On Monday, June 10, the European Parliament released preliminary the results of voting in the elections that took place on June 9 in 20 European countries.
