Families of captives and missing persons will be notified by the Coordination Headquarters in "Diia"
Families of military, civilian prisoners of war and missing Ukrainians will receive alerts from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in the "Diia" app. Previously, citizens received such messages via text messages
It is noted that the notifications will come in "Diia" to protect the families of POWs from misinformation.
"The vulnerability of relatives of prisoners of war and missing persons was used by fraudsters — they offered to "speed up" the exchange for money or sent fake information imitating data from the Coordination Headquarters", the agency explained.
It is noted that when a person disappears, his relatives submit an application in a personal account on the website of the Coordination Headquarters. Then "Diia" will inform about the confirmation of the application, adding information about the case and about the release of the person from captivity.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense notes: if a person was considered missing, but later received confirmation that he is in captivity — his relatives will also learn about it through Diia.
"You will receive notifications from the Coordination Headquarters in Diia if: you are authorized in Diia; have a verified taxpayer card; submitted applications through the Personal Cabinet of the Coordination Headquarters", the ministry added.
- On June 9, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin said that 90% of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia suffer from various kinds of torture, inhuman treatment and violence.
