"We continue to improve the military command structures. Our main task is to make the troop command system more effective and eliminate duplication of functions. These activities are carried out within the framework of implementation of the strategy of development of types and separate branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2035", the report says.

Syrskyi noted that for the first time, such planning takes place for a decade in advance.

In accordance with it, the General Staff continues to optimize its staff, in particular — to reduce the number of its units and get rid of unrelated functions.

"Thanks to this, the military management bodies that command troops in areas of combat operations have already been strengthened", he said.

He also added that the Unmanned Systems Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is being formed in this context.

"Our goal, despite Russian aggression, is to create a promising structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the period before joining NATO", Syrskyi emphasized.

  • On February 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree on the creation of the AFU Unmanned Systems Force in Ukraine.
