He said that all military men were subjected to torture in captivity — the occupants torture, keep them in inhuman conditions, starve them, deny them medical care, beat them for the language.

According to Kostin, 2,200 warriors who were held captive by the Russian Federation have been recognized as victims as of now. More than 500 testified about physical abuse during interrogations — in particular, electric shocks.

The prosecutor general also said that at least 25 facilities in the Russian Federation have been identified where military defense forces are systematically abused.

Since the beginning of the new phase of the Russian aggression, 450 criminal proceedings on the facts of mistreatment of prisoners of war have been registered. They are also investigating 27 cases of execution of 61 defenders, four occupants have been reported on suspicion. Two cases have been sent to court, and the first verdict has already been delivered.
