It is noted that the president thanked Dina Boluarte for concrete steps in support of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Peru voted in favor of key UN resolutions and the termination of Russia's status as a permanent observer to the OAS", Zelenskyy wrote.
He also urged his colleague to participate in the Peace Summit in Switzerland — "this will strengthen the representation of Latin America". In addition, Zelenskyy suggested that Dina Boluarte visit Ukraine.
What is known about the Peace Summit in Switzerland
The Ukraine Peace Summit is scheduled for June 15-16 in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock. Switzerland considers the Bürgenstock summit as one that is intended to kick-start the peace process.
On March 18, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Wang Shihting said that the China is considering the possibility of participating in the peace summit, which Switzerland is organizing at the request of Ukraine.
On May 2, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said that Russia should participate in the peace summit because "a peace process without Russia is unthinkable". However, this year Moscow was not invited to the event.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the summit would be the first real chance to restore peace.
On May 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that more than 80 countries would already take part in the Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16.
The Peace Summit plans to develop a common negotiating position for Ukraine, which will be passed on to Russia's top leadership, according to announced Ukrainian presidential speaker Sergei Nikiforov.
