Political analyst Aleksei Koshel is convinced that it is not profitable for US President Joe Biden to participate in the Peace Summit, which will not yield positive results
About this writes espreso.tv

He expressed this opinion on the air of Espreso.

"Joe Biden is not just the president of one of the most influential countries in the world, he is also a presidential candidate. Therefore, it is obvious that for him it is unacceptable to participate in a summit that will not yield any special results and will not give him the image of a peacemaker. This is quite understandable and logical. For Biden, it was favorable that after the summit he would be declared the main peacemaker of the world and that he was able to end the biggest war of our time. This would have greatly improved his rating on the eve of the presidential election", Koshel explained.

Political analyst Koshel believes that the Biden administration could have planned the president's participation in the Peace Summit if it had wanted to.

"It is obvious that Biden did not plan to participate in the Peace Summit in Switzerland. The White House realizes that this summit will not bring the desired results. Besides, events like the summit are planned in advance. Obviously, the Biden administration could have quietly planned to participate in the Peace Summit if it wanted to", he added.

Switzerland Peace Summit

The peace conference on Ukraine is scheduled for June 15-16 at the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock. Switzerland has invited more than 160 delegations to the conference, but not Russia. Switzerland explained that it did not invite Russia "at this stage" but considers the peace process as a whole "unthinkable" without Russia's participation.

At the same time, neutral Switzerland strongly condemns Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Switzerland sees the Bürgenstock summit as one designed to kick-start the peace process.

As of May 15, Switzerland reported that more than 50 states had confirmed their participation in the peace summit as of May 15. Since then, participation in the peace conference has also been confirmed by Georgia, Malawi, Portugal, Liechtenstein, Croatia, India, Romania, Austria, Albania, Chile, Greece, Norway, Northern Macedonia, Cote d'Ivoire.

On June 3, it became known that the Swiss Peace Summit on Ukraine will participate  107 states and international organizations.

At the same time, from the United States of America, Vice President Kamala Harris will participate.
