According to the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the reason for the long blackouts is the deficit in the energy system. He also said under what conditions it will be possible to avoid emergency blackouts, which were applied yesterday.

"If our colleagues will keep within the limits that we determine for this day, the blackouts will be planned. But the deficit is quite significant, so the duration of these shutdowns, unfortunately, may also be significant. It could be four hours, it could be longer. Depending on whether we're talking about peak hours — morning or evening — or whether we're talking about hours when the shortage situation is a little less acute. It's the daytime zone and the nighttime", Kudrytskyi added.

• On Wednesday, June 5, the deficit in the energy system is predicted throughout the day, so in all regions of Ukraine will operate schedules of hourly blackouts from 00:00 to 24:00.
