Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing sanctions against some Russian media outlets
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted a decision by the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against a number of Russian media outlets and companies, including those from temporarily occupied Crimea
The decree approves the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 22 "On the application and lifting of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)" against 68 legal entities and two individuals.
In particular, sanctions are imposed against TV companies "NTV Plus", "First Channel. World Network", "Zvezda", "TNT Teleset", "St. Petersburg", "Ren TV", TRK "Crimea", newspapers "Izvestia", "Moskovsky Komsomolets" and others.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Litvinenko will monitor the implementation of the decision. The Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine should ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of the sanctions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States and other states about the application of sanctions and raise with them the issue of introducing similar restrictive measures.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion, he called on allies, in particular the United States and the European Union, to introduce sanctions against Russia, but this was not done.
