The official value of the dollar exceeded UAH 40 for the first time
On Friday, May 24, the NBU set the dollar above UAH 40 for the first time
The dollar is set to exchange at UAH 40.11 on Monday, May 27.
This is 19 kopecks more expensive than the dollar exchange rate on May 24, which was set at UAH 39.92.
During the full-scale invasion of Russia, the dollar has risen in price by UAH 11.13 — from 28.98 UAH/$ (as of February 23, 2022).
The official euro exchange rate for May 27 is set at UAH 43.49, and the zloty at UAH 10.21.
On October 3, 2023, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to change the currency regime and use the interbank foreign exchange market rate to set the official hryvnia exchange rate, i.e., to make the hryvnia exchange rate "manageable and flexible" rather than fixed.
In May 2024, the National Bank implemented the largest package of currency restrictions liberalization for business, designed to promote economic recovery and investment inflows.
