Trump's former rival Nikki Haley says she will support him in the presidential election
Former South Carolina governor and former rival of Donald Trump Nikki Haley has said she will support him in the November 2024 presidential election
Haley announced the decision at her first public appearance since withdrawing from the Republican presidential primary more than two months ago. She said that on issues important to her, including foreign policy, immigration and the economy, Trump "hasn't been perfect", while incumbent President Joe Biden "has been a disaster".
"That's why I will vote for Trump", Haley said.
She added that she has no regrets about running and is grateful to voters who have continued to support her even after dropping out of the race.
"Trump would be doing the smart thing if he reached out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, rather than assuming they're just going to be with him. And I sincerely hope he does", Haley emphasized.
- On March 5, Nikki Haley officially announced the end of her presidential campaign. Her rival Donald Trump and incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden have commented.
- On May 11, Axios reported that Trump's campaign is actively considering Haley's candidacy to help the former president regain the White House. At the same time, Trump refuted that report.
