In the occupied territories, farmers are forced to pay tribute to sell their crops
Farmers in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region are forced to pay tribute to local collaborators to sell their last year's harvest. The amount of such a tribute is 10-15% of earnings. Farmers also have to pay this percentage when they buy fertilizers. If Ukrainian farmers sell their products without paying the tribute, the Russians can mobilize them into the occupation army and face problems with the law.

"Another scheme of profiteering from local farmers has been operating since the beginning of the occupation. These are intermediary firms, exclusively through which you can sell your products at fixed prices that are lower than market prices. Then the grain is transferred to structures related to the gatekeepers, which resell it at market prices and take the difference", adds the National Resistance Center.
Earlier, it became known that in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region, the invaders hold meetings with local farmers and demand that they register their business under Russian law.
