The Verkhovna Rada supported a bill to introduce initial general military training instead of pre-conscription training
This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. The draft law was supported by 297 MPs. Instead of pre-conscription training, it is proposed to introduce initial general military training, which is implemented at the third level of complete general secondary education and conducted in general secondary, vocational (vocational-technical), professional pre-university, higher education and other educational institutions.
Educational institutions must be licensed to conduct educational activities at the appropriate level of complete general secondary education, by teaching the subject "Protection of Ukraine" and taking measures aimed at military.
"Programs for the academic subject ' Protection of Ukraine' are developed and approved by the central body of executive power, which ensures the formation and implementation of state policy in the spheres of education and science, in coordination with the Ministry of Defense", — said the MP.
The deputy commander of the Third Assault Brigade, Maxim Zhorin, believes that Ukraine needs a law on the initial military training of students for armed defense.
