Dutchman Arne Slot has become the new head coach of the English football club Liverpool
The English club's contract with Slot will come into force on June 1, after the Dutchman receives a work permit in Britain. He will replace German Jürgen Klopp as head coach.
The last job of 45-year-old Arne Slot was Feyenoord, with whom he won the Dutch championship in 2023. He also headed AZ Alkmaar.
Jürgen Klopp announced that he was leaving the English club on January 26, although his contract was designed until 2026. Under his leadership, Liverpool won all possible titles — the English Championship in 2020, the English Super Cup, the League Cup, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup.
56-year-old Klopp led Liverpool to the Champions League final three times. In 2018 in Kyiv and in 2022 in Saint-Denis, the English lost to Spanish Real Madrid. In 2019, Liverpool defeated Tottenham in Madrid and won the main European football trophy for the sixth time.
