And why most analysts are skeptical that Joe Biden will be replaced by another candidate

According to the German newspaper DerSpiegel, US President Joe Biden may withdraw from the presidential election this summer and propose the candidacy of Michelle Obama, the wife of former President Barack Obama.

Biden may announce his decision at the Democratic Party convention in Chicago in August. The publication also notes that Michelle Obama is already being considered as a potential candidate, as she has been included in public opinion polls.

This decision may be made because of Biden's age, as two-thirds of Americans believe he is too old for another term. Der Spiegel also recalls the elderly age of Republican candidate Donald Trump and his court cases, which may alienate voters.

NBC News reports that Michelle Obama does not plan to run for president. Her office noted that she supports the re-election campaign of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Michelle Obama intends to help Biden's campaign this fall, but her involvement will be limited due to other commitments and her unwillingness to re-enter the political fray. So, should we expect a new Democratic candidate?

Why did the idea of a possible change of the Democratic candidate appear and become popular?

As discussed in the article above, one of the reasons is the age of the current candidate. If Michelle Obama were to become the Democratic candidate, she would most likely defeat Trump. After all, the electorate that would have been afraid to vote for Biden because of his age would now definitely get a more comfortable option.

At the same time, it should be understood that Michelle is a woman, a black woman, a very successful author of blockbuster books, this is a real formula for success for this election, many people love her in the United States, so the choice is logical. However, Michelle has so far refuted the ideas.

Biden is currently continuing to engage with African-American voters, recently participating in a number of events commemorating the history of the civil rights movement and speaking to a new generation of leaders.

As the Biden campaign prepares for the November presidential election, it is trying to shore up support among a group that traditionally supports Democratic candidates.

Biden spoke at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, where he criticized his likely Republican rival, former President Donald Trump.

In an effort to gain the support of young African-American voters, Biden met with leaders of the "Divine Nine," a group of traditionally black fraternities and sororities, as well as community organizations at colleges and universities.

Prior to that, the president held a private meeting with the plaintiffs in Brown v. Board of Education and their families. This historic 1954 Supreme Court decision declared unconstitutional laws that encouraged segregation.

Biden will conclude a series of events aimed at connecting with African-American voters by speaking at a graduation ceremony at Morehouse College for Men in Atlanta, where Martin Luther King once studied. Biden will dedicate his speech to the new generation of African-American men, a group in which support for the president is waning.

His speech comes amid recent protests across the country, during which young progressives have expressed frustration with Biden's handling of the war between Israel and Hamas. Many protesters have linked Palestinian activism to other forms of global injustice, including racism against African Americans.

"African Americans who are concerned about social justice issues outside the U.S. have similar attitudes about social justice in the U.S.", said Dana Williams, dean of the Howard University Graduate School and a member of the Howard University Initiative for Public Opinion Research.
"The pursuit of justice, the opposition to oppression, the expectation of a just and fair democracy is what I think connects these people", she told Voice of America.

Asked whether Biden sympathizes with African-American students who see parallels between their experiences of discrimination and those of Palestinians, White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre told VOA that Biden "is sensitive to the fact that many communities are in pain".

"He knows it's a difficult time, and he's understanding of that," she said at the briefing.

Biden will also speak in Detroit at a dinner honoring the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a leading civil rights organization. The president will also visit an African-American-owned small business in the city.

Biden's campaign said the event is meant to show how the administration is working to win the support of African-American voters and address their priorities.

Why is Biden's replacement as a presidential candidate unlikely?

The entire election process indicates that it will be Biden who will compete with Trump this fall. The Democrat won almost all the primaries (state-by-state voting for favorites among potential presidential candidates) and won a majority of the delegate votes. Rejecting his candidacy in favor of Michelle Obama in this case would be a disregard for millions of American votes.

According to the rules, delegates must "reflect in good conscience the feelings of those who elected them". And Democratic voters cast their ballots for Joe Biden.

The delegates are expected to support the incumbent president in one round at the Democratic National Convention. In modern American history, there has been no precedent for a candidate with the most delegates not being nominated for office. It's too late for another "viable" candidate to enter the race.

Most likely, Michelle Obama could become the vice president of the United States under President Biden if he wins this year's presidential election.

Michelle Obama plays an important role in the current US administration, so it is not surprising that she could become vice president. Kamala Harris causes some dissatisfaction: she lacks charisma, she does not arouse much interest. These are common opinions about her. She just is, and that's it. However, they are afraid to remove her in order not to lose the votes of African Americans and representatives of national minorities. Michelle Obama, on the contrary, solves many issues: she is ideologically suitable for the Democrats, has high ratings and is positively perceived by national minorities in the United States. She has no compromising evidence, which makes her an even more attractive candidate.

The Vice President of the United States is the second most important position in the American executive branch. The vice president is elected along with the president for a four-year term and performs several important functions:

1. Vice President: In the event of the death, resignation, removal from office, or disability of the president, the vice president becomes acting president. This has happened 10 times in US history, for example, when James Garfield died in 1881 and John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

2. President of the Senate: The vice president leads the U.S. Senate, where he presides over meetings and casts the tie-breaking vote. This role gives the vice president the ability to influence the legislative process.

3. Member of the executive branch: The vice president may be appointed by the president to any position or task. This may include participating in diplomatic missions, chairing commissions, or representing the president at events.

4. Other duties: The vice president may perform other duties as prescribed by law or assigned by the president.

The vice president is elected along with the president in a national election. Presidential candidates choose their vice presidential candidates and their names appear on the same ballot. The electoral college is a group of 538 people elected from each state and the District of Columbia. The number of electors in each state corresponds to its congressional representation. It is important to note that the vice president is not elected separately from the president. This means that electors cannot vote for one presidential candidate and another vice presidential candidate. They must vote for the presidential team as a whole.

The vice president has a number of key responsibilities, including deputizing for the president, presiding over the Senate, and participating in the executive branch. The vice president can also be a valuable advisor to the president and play an important role in shaping public policy.
