We need to prepare to live with power outages in summer, — Yasno Kovalenko, CEO
Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko noted that power outages will continue in the summer
He said this on the air of the Espresso TV channel.
"Blackouts will continue in the summer in one way or another. When the heat comes, our consumption will increase because air conditioners are turned on, and the deficit may be greater. It all depends on the amount of generation we can restore after the shelling. That is, we need to prepare to live with blackouts", Kovalenko emphasized.
Yasno CEO also added that it would be good if the blackouts were planned, on schedule, so that people and businesses could plan their lives and activities.
"It will be worse if the blackouts are emergency. When there is a shortage and Ukrenergo spontaneously announces it and local networks are turned off in three minutes", Kovalenko said.
- On the evening of May 15, Ukraine introduced emergency power outages in all regions.
- Power outages for consumers may last until August or September 2024. The winter may be "inevitably difficult".
