Draft law providing for a significant increase in excise taxes on fuel was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has registered a draft law in the Verkhovna Rada that provides for a significant increase in excise taxes on fuel

According to it, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Rada a draft law "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on Approximation of Ukrainian Legislation to the Legislation of the European Union in terms of Excise Tax".
The proposed excise tax rates are as follows:
- gasoline — 359 euros per thousand liters;
- diesel — 330 euros per thousand liters;
- gas — 277 euros per thousand liters.
The document also provides for a schedule of annual increases in such rates from July 1, 2024 to December 2027.
As of now, the excise taxes are as follows:
- gasoline — €215.5 per thousand liters;
- diesel — €139.5 per thousand liters;
- gas — €70 per thousand liters.
- Recall that on March 22, the government proposed a gradual increase in the excise tax on fuel until 2028. Thus, the excise tax rates will approach the minimum level set in the EU.
