According to Casillas, Andrey Lunin should be in the Real Madrid goal in the decisive game against Borussia Dortmund, not the Belgian Thibaut Courtois.

"Lunin has proven to be a reliable goalkeeper who can help at any time. It doesn't depend on me, but Lunin has to play. Courtois has just recovered from an injury. It is true that he played very well the other day, but he is not yet in a competitive rhythm," Casillas said.

The Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will take place on June 1 at Wembley in London.

Andrey Lunin, 25, has played 30 matches for Real Madrid this season, conceding 28 goals and keeping 12 games scoreless.

Thibaut Courtois, 31, missed most of the season due to injury. He played only one match.

42-year-old Iker Casillas played for Real Madrid from 1999 to 2015 and became a four-time Champions League winner with Madrid. With the Spanish national team, the goalkeeper won the World Cup and became a two-time European champion.

  • On May 8, Real Madrid defeated Bayern Munich with Lunin in goal and reached the Champions League final.
