In Sumy region, the community did not release local deputies until they allocated 83 million for the Armed Forces
What happened at the meeting to approve the budget of Romny for 2024
Local residents in Romny, Sumy region, compelled MPs to vote for the allocation of 83 million UAH for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Although some deputies proposed allocating 107 million UAH , this proposal was not adopted.
This was reported by a local publication Romny 24 .
At the session of the city council, deputies were to approve the allocation of 83 million 400 thousand UAH for the needs of the Armed Forces. However, several deputies wanted more money to be allocated - 107 million UAH. This decision was not adopted.
Then city residents entered the city council building who are active participants in the all-Ukrainian campaign "Money for the Armed Forces!". In effect, people prevented the deputies from leaving right in the meeting room until they finally voted in favor of the program to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Under the pressure of Romny residents, after long "negotiations" between the heads of factions and the mayor, we managed to come to at least this decision. Instead of 107 million, 83 million were allocated", - Romny told 24.
We will remind, today in Lviv also adopted the budget for 2024, which provided 1 billion UAH for the purchase of equipment and means for the Armed Forces.
