Ukraine has increased the use of its own weapons six times this year, - General Havryliuk
How the share of domestically produced weapons in the Ukrainian army has increased
In 2023, Ukraine used six times more weapons of its own production than in the previous year. The share of Ukrainian-made drones has especially increased.
About this in the interview ArmyInform said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
Since February 24, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has adopted more than 400 samples of weapons and military equipment for service in the Armed Forces, with over 250 being domestically produced
In 2022, 34 samples of domestically produced weapons were adopted for service. In 2023, more than 200 samples of domestically produced weapons and military equipment were adopted and put into service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the number of domestic weapons in the Ukrainian army has increased six times.
"In percentage terms, among them, in particular: unmanned aerial systems - 29%, armored vehicles - 7%, electronic warfare - 6%, ground robotic systems - 3%", - Havryliuk said.
According to Havryliuk, a crucial role in increasing the number of new equipment and weapons in the army was played by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, which simplified the procedure for acceptance of new models of weapons proposed by developers. Previously, the process of commissioning new models of weapons and military equipment took several months, today it takes several weeks.
