German Chancellor Olaf Scholz calls on European allies to provide Ukraine with air defense systems from existing stocks, as there is no time to wait for new ones to be manufactured

Scholz reminded that Berlin is handing over the third Patriot air defense system to Kyiv.

"For us, this is a very clear signal that we are ready to help where there is a lack of ammunition, artillery and weapons", the politician said, urging other European leaders to join the initiative.
"Because we cannot wait until new systems are produced. We must provide Ukraine with more air defense capabilities from existing stocks," the German Chancellor summed up.
  • On April 11, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine had found more than 100 available Patriots in the world and was seeking to get at least 7 such systems as soon as possible.
  • On April 13, it became known that Germany would transfer another Patriot system to Ukraine.
