Germany raises its fighter jets to intercept russian plane

On Friday, April 26, German Eurofighter jets took off to intercept a russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea

According to the German Air Force, at about 12:45 local time, fighter jets from the Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) took off from Laage to intercept the russian plane.

"The russian Il-20 was detected in international airspace over the Baltic Sea and was subsequently escorted further", the statement said.
